谁还没点追求呢?虽然还没有开始投简历,学习一下并且尝试总是可以的嘛。

现在处于产品经理的实习阶段,WFH都两个多月了,还有八个星期结束实习,之后计划搬去Seattle并完成研究生最后一学期的学习。

虽然现在实习的公司还在正常运转没有受太多的影响,但是工作内容与我追求的还是有所差异,加上搬去另一所城市,并没有计划在目前的公司转正。

求职路依旧漫漫。

距离毕业还有半年的时间,如今恰好又是北美史上找工作最难的时期,难得一遇的COVID-19就在眼前。求职时间逐渐紧张,目标可以收获大厂的PM或者APM岗位,每天学习相关知识并分享。

且学且分享,记录学习的过程也是侧面督促自己。

  面试流程  

FACEBOOK

Facebook was built on a hacker culture, and this shows in their culture. Facebook wants PMs who show this entrepreneurial drive.

Like other companies, PM candidates start off with 1 or 2 phone interviews. The phone interviews cover behavioral questions, and may also ask why you are passionate about Facebook. The best answer may include anecdotes about real-world experiences with Facebook or a desire to have a big impact and work with smart people.

If you do well on the phone interviews, you will be brought in for 4 or 5 onsite interviews. Each interviewer wear a specific "hat":

Technical and Logical: You will be asked some quantitative questions,  especially around metrics and implementing experiments. If you have a technical background,  you might. Also be asked to code.

Design: These will include typical product design questions. Additionally, if you have built anything, they may ask to see it. Think about what services and apps you like and why you like them.

Futurist: These include questions like, "What is the. Future of TV?"  Show that you can reason about the future. You don't just want to talk about symptoms of the future; you want to think about what will fundamentally change to get that way and what effect those changes will have. You want to be a storyteller.

For experiences roles, they'll ask about you core strengths. They want to check your sense of self to see if you understand what you are good at.

Entry-level PMs generally get hired at Facebook as generalists rather than for a specific team.

Amazon candidatesstart off with 2 short phone screens. These are just 30 minutes, and theytypically don't drill deeply into your skills. They're mainly looking tounderstand your background to see if you should be brought onsite.

The onsiteinterviews consist of 4 to 6 in-person interviews, each about an hour long.

Interviewers will belooking to see how you match up against Amazon's 14 leadership principles witheach interviewers covering 2 to 3 principles. If an interviewer doesn't feelthat she did an adequate job covering one, she might ask another interview tofollow up.

Of these 14principles, an ability to get things done and customer obsession areparticularly important.

One of yourinterviewers will be the "bar raiser." The bar raiser is a specialinterviewer from another team. This interviewers is talked with "raisingthe bar" and ensuring you are better than 50 percent of Amazon PMs. He isoften easy to pick out from your interviewers: he's the one brought in fromanother team.

The bar raiser isalso often the person who will challenge you the most. For example, he mightbe. Testing the "having backbone" value. Do you have a position thatyou can back up while respectfully disagreeing? Don’t be surprised. If theinterviewer continuers digging into something until you've given a satisfactoryanswer.

You will also likelyinterview with a hiring manager.

Google's interviewprocess is much like every other company's. It begins with 2 phone interviewsthat may cover technical, cultural fit, strategic, analytical, and productdesign questions.

If you pass thoseinterviews, you will be brought onsite for a full day of interviews. You mayhave an interview over lunch. If so, his interviewer generally doesn't submitfeedback for you. She's just there to sit with you and field questions.

You otherinterviewers will be assigned specific roles. Some will evaluate your technicalskills, others your product skills, and still others your analytical skills.

Each interviewerwill be evaluating you separately. Google is pretty strict about interviewersnot sharing feedback on you with other interviewers until everyone hassubmitted their feedback.

After the interview,associate product managers will be given an essay to write. The essay oftenfocuses on an area of business strategy. Be concise and to the point;beautiful, descriptive prose is not good business writing. And, of course, besure to check for any spelling or grammatical errors.

在外留学,英美澳各个国家,读书期间的目标都是为了看更大的世界,了解不同的文化,学习更广的知识。而在读书之后的工作,也是为了获得相比较国内而言含金量更高的工作经验,还有金钱。如果不是有所期望,为什么不在国内享受安全的社会环境足不出户就可以吃遍各地美食的幸福生活。

我的目标也是希望学有所成,日后回国也有技能可以在国内有更好的发展。最起码在过去四个月的实习中,英语口语能力也有一丢丢的提高,他们的文化和沟通方式也有所了解。

通过实际的工作经验,取其精华,如何高效工作和设计好的产品,都是值得学习的内容。那么,在工作之前,认真准备以找到一份工作。
